What information do you need to provide a quote?
Send existing/proposed plans (PDF/DWG), a brief description of the works, approximate spans/openings, and a few site photos if available. If you don’t have drawings yet, a sketch with dimensions is fine—we’ll advise the next steps.
How fast will you respond and how long does a typical job take?
We aim to reply within 24 hours and send a clear, fixed-fee quote within 48 hours. Turnaround for common items (e.g., an RSJ for a wall removal) is often a few working days after instruction. Let us know if you need a same-week option.
Are your calculations accepted by Building Control?
Yes. Our packages are prepared to UK standards and are ready for Building Control submission. If an inspector has questions, we respond directly and issue any clarifications promptly.
Do you offer fixed prices and a price-beat guarantee?
Yes—quotes are fixed for the agreed scope. If you have a like-for-like written quote, we’ll beat it. (Excludes non-equivalent scope or promotional pricing.)
Do you cover my area and can you work remotely?
We support projects across the UK. Most residential designs are completed from drawings, photos and measurements. If a site visit is needed, we’ll arrange it.
Will I need a site visit or opening-up works?
Not always. Many RSJ and extension designs can be completed from plans and photos. Where structure is concealed or loads are uncertain, we may recommend a visit or limited opening-up to confirm assumptions.
What format do I receive and who can use it?
You’ll receive signed calculations (PDF) and clear drawings/mark-ups (PDF/DWG if required). Builders use these on site and they’re suitable for Building Control submission.
What about revisions and coordination with my architect/builder?
Minor tweaks within the agreed scope are included. We coordinate directly with your architect and answer your builder’s queries during construction.
Are you insured and are your engineers chartered?
Yes—we carry professional indemnity insurance suitable for residential work. Our team includes chartered and senior structural engineers experienced in low-rise design.
